Monitoring data voluntarily conducted by civilian investigators in the nation's tidal-flat area is accumulated through the 'Tidal Flat Kippers' online platform. Through the accumulated monitoring results, various information on the status of various tidal flat species in each region, species diversity, habitat change, threat factor and so on are secured by citizen's power. These data will enable us to analyze data from a variety of perspectives such as the ecological linkage between each species and the habitat environment and the impact of climate change on the tidal flats in the long term. In addition, online platforms provide expert assistance in real-time at the research site.

The tidal flats Kippers were created by the ecological horizon research institute in 2016, submitted to the Google Impact Challenge and realized the idea of ​​"preserving the tidal flats in a smartphone," which was selected as the winning project. By using standardized citizen monitoring survey items in all tidal flats in Korea, It is a tidal-flat citizen monitoring online platform that can identify the connection between ecosystems.
