Cookies Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-14
This page lists every cookie and similar storage technology bumetric.com uses, why it's there, and how to switch the optional ones off. For the broader privacy picture see our Privacy Policy.
1. What's a "cookie" here
We use the word loosely to mean any small piece of data the browser stores
on your behalf — actual HTTP cookies, localStorage,
sessionStorage. All of them are subject to the same EU rules
(ePrivacy + GDPR) and we treat them the same way.
2. Cookies we set ourselves
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
API.token |
localStorage | Your signed-in session token (JWT). Without it you'd log in on every page. | 24 h, or until logout |
bu-cookies-accepted |
localStorage | Remembers your choice on the cookie banner (so we don't show it every visit). | 365 days |
These two are strictly necessary — the site can't work without them. They don't track you across other sites and don't go to any third party.
3. Cookies from third parties
3.1 Google AdSense planned
Ads are not enabled yet. When we turn them on, Google AdSense will set its
own cookies (e.g. __gads, __gpi) to serve ads and
measure performance. These are optional and only get set if
you click Accept on the cookie banner.
You can also manage your AdSense personalisation directly: adssettings.google.com, or opt out of all interest-based ads at YourAdChoices.com.
4. Your choices
- Cookie banner — first visit shows a banner with Accept / Reject. Reject keeps the strictly necessary cookies and skips everything optional (currently only AdSense, when it lands).
- Browser settings — you can clear or block cookies for
bumetric.comat any time. The site will still load; you'll just have to log in again and the banner will re-appear next visit. - "Do Not Track" header — we honour it. If your browser sends DNT, we treat that the same as Reject on the banner.
