「禪修入門」APP收錄了聖嚴法師《禪－內外和平》、《坐禪的功能》、《舞中的禪機》、《禪的真義》等11種文字及影音開示，以簡單、易懂的文字，帶領緊張忙碌的現代人，進入禪修的世界，一起領略禪的活潑與妙用。
聖嚴教育基金會出版的「智慧隨身書」，是法鼓山流通最廣的結緣書，有系統地整理節錄了聖嚴法師的開示，引導民眾循序了解佛法，開啟智慧。
1995年，聖嚴法師於紐約曾提到 :「我對未來的佛教傳播事業，抱有無限的希望和堅定的信念……，在軟體方面，除了正統性的佛經整理及闡釋之外，也應當密切配合並運用現代化的科技媒體及其專才，多樣化地表達佛法的內涵。為了推廣佛法，深入人心，表達的形式是可以隨時隨地開發新的面貌。」
