Our family of 5 traded our suburban life to live simply on our 54 acre farm in West Gippsland Victoria, Australia mid 2018. We were lucky enough to set ourselves up to live a self sufficient life just before corona hit. We were 6 months into our self imposed year long challenge only eating what we grew, forage for, barter for also selling our excess produce to purchase pantry staples like spices, grains, coconut products, coffee and chocolate. We were one of the lucky ones, not needing to worry about where our next meal was going to come from.
