■About surname origin net
According to the ``Japanese Surname Dictionary'' written by surname researcher and literature doctor Motoji Niwa, the number of Japanese surnames (surnames) is just under 300,000.
There are various theories on how to count surnames, such as ``Ito, Ito, Ito, Ito, Ito,'' which counts the same ``Ito'' as 1 case each due to differences in the kanji composition, and ``Ito'' with ``different readings'' such as ``Ito, Ifuji,'' which are counted as 1 case each.
It is said that there are approximately 300,000 surnames, and Surname Derivation Net covers the surnames of more than 99.54% of the entire Japanese population, making it the ``No. 1 information app'' that boasts a huge amount of information on ``surname origin.''
*The method of counting surnames in this app is based on our own analysis based on "national telephone directory data."

■Notes
Name derived net operates while connected to a network.
