Seismology brings together, in one app, earthquakes reported by the world's official seismological agencies and notifies you the moment one happens near you.
■ Real-time information
Push notifications for earthquakes in the region, country, or magnitude range you care about. Set your threshold: 3.0 and up, 4.5, 5.5 — whatever fits you.
■ Data from official sources
We aggregate reports from USGS (United States), Chile's Centro Sismológico Nacional (CSN), Mexico's Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN), EMSC (Europe) and GeoNet (New Zealand). Every event shows its reporting agency.
■ Interactive map
See all recent earthquakes on a map with markers sized by magnitude and coloured by depth. Zoom to your region and tap any event for full detail.
■ Full event details
For each earthquake: magnitude, depth, local and UTC times, distance from your location and a link to the official agency report.
■ Community comments
Post how you felt the quake and read what others in the area are reporting. Useful to compare perceived intensity before official shake-map data arrives.
■ Filters and preferences
Filter by agency, minimum magnitude, maximum age and distance. Preferences are saved and synced across your devices.
■ Subscriptions
Subscribe to specific regions (by country or by coordinates) and receive only the alerts that matter to you. Great if you live in an active zone or have family in another.
■ Privacy
No personal data is required to use the app. Location is used only to compute distance to the epicentre and filter nearby alerts; processing happens on the device.
■ Free
The app is free. An optional in-app purchase removes advertising; every core feature works without paying.
Seismology does not predict earthquakes and is not a replacement for official early-warning systems (ShakeAlert in the US, SASMEX in Mexico, JMA in Japan). It is an informational app showing events that have already occurred, as reported by the official agencies.
