The app has been rebuilt from the ground up, to take advantage of new Android UI developments. New screens have been added to the free version, app settings have been added and the app widget is now resizable and configurable.
• Full functionality available in app
The free version of the app now features the full functionality that was previously only available in the separate paid version. This means the app now displays the occasional full-screen ad that will appear between screens. These can be disabled temporarily by going to the Help > About > Ads screen and watching a video ad until the end, or by going to Help > About > Prem and purchasing the Premium unlock app. Owners of 'Stardate Pro' (now Stardate Premium) can install Stardate with no further purchase necessary.
• Refined Stardate conversions and options
The various methods of calculating Stardate conversions have been re-analyzed for greater accuracy. The main screen now has a series of Stardate conversion customization menus found by tapping the buttons down the left-hand side of the screen. The idea being that, since there is no real official Stardate conversion system, you can play around with different settings until you find something you like.
• Resizable and configurable app widget
The widget has been overhauled and is now fully resizable offering configuration options before and after deployment. From your device's home screen, you can access widget configuration by tapping on the left side of the widget and tapping on the right side of the widget will launch the app proper.
• Star Trek UI sounds
As well as now including some Star Trek-appropriate sounds when pressing different buttons and changing settings, the app also takes advantage of Android's haptic feedback or 'Tactile Interface'.
• Future development
Now that the base app has been updated there are still features I want to include, such as:
• Standard clock features like setting of alarms and countdown timers
• Saving of Date/Stardate conversions
