In the beginning of this Surah, Allah prepares Muhammad for an important revelation. In preparation for this revelation, Allah relaxes the strict directive on night prayer. Muhammad is then instructed to be patient for the disbelievers will be punished in Hell, as epitomized by a story of Pharaoh’s/Fir-oun's punishment.
During the early revelations, Muslims were directed to pray at night and recite the Quran completely as the distractions of the day were minimized, but as more and more revelations came and the Quran grew, Allah relaxed his prior command of night prayers and it was directed to only recite the Quran that was feasible for you.
