Medpharma is a mobile and web application which digitizes healthcare through an aggregation of Providers (Hospitals, Pharmacies and Laboratories), drugs (Over the Counter drugs, prescriptions and medical devices), Specialists (Doctors and Pharmacists) and the patient.

Medical practitioners and the service provider based on how well they perform and digitizes an encrypted version of your medical records for easier and convenient use when needed.

Medpharma’s key objectives are:

- Deploy telemedicine as a way of serving the patient.

PATIENT - DOCTOR RATIO

The World Health Organization recommend that, the Doctor-Patient Ratio should be at 1: 600. However, in Africa is believed to have as high as 1:50,000 patients. Due to this, hospitals and clinics get unusually clogged on a daily basis, limiting emergency patient’s quality access to medical practitioners. Medpharma seeks to bridge that gap.

Partner pharmacies will have their stocks managed at the back office so that, patients request through the MEDPHARMA app or web protocol can be served either by directing them to buy or delivering it to them. Partner Clinics and Doctors will be on call 24 / 7 to consult over the phone, give first aid or direct patient to the relevant physician for assistance or to partner facilities. Patients who have subscribed to Medpharma enjoy low cost of medical consultation and get access to medical practitioners through tele – medicine and specialized services.

EASY ACCESS TO MEDICAL RECORDS

Medpharma allows patients to access medical records for easy referencing by Doctors and other medical practitioners especially in emergencies and when the patient travels.

Due to the low cost of drugs bought on the Medpharma platform, insurance companies stand to gain as cost of claims will reduce significantly, thereby boosting their profits.


RATING OF HEALTH PRACTITIONERS AND PROVIDERS ON MEDPHARMA

On Medpharma, rating of medical practitioners and service providers is done by patients to help improve their performance in delivering better healthcare. Patients therefore have a choice to recommend a health provider to weed out undesirable service providers.
